The somewhat provocative title of the exhibition refers to the meme template "Average fan vs Average enjoyer" and speaks of the complexity of the concept of peace, which does not correspond to obsessive calls for a "ceasefire". Even after the fire is over, the conflict, its consequences, and personal traumas do not end immediately. The show is site-specific and is centered around the paradox of the war victims who are expected to constantly perform — to attract attention and reach help to survive, while at the same time being the spectators in the first row. The exhibition is also focused on the relations between media, war, western paternalism and celebrity activism. Celebrities who visit the war zones to spread the word about the tragedy and become the voices of the victims are also under the light of the ramp. Celebrity activism exhibits ambiguity, as the victims must express gratitude for their help, while simultaneously serving as a platform for promoting image-making and demonstrating the superiority and power of The Other. The ongoing discourse renews reflections on Bosnia, which underwent peace negotiations in 1995, yet remains constrained by their aftermath. Average Peace Enjoyer invites visitors to question the narratives that shape our images of war and the relations that it produces.
